Teacher's Bio
Egyptian-style master dance teacher with an anthropological approach, Sausan has been teaching since 2000. Jodette, a Middle Eastern Sacramento-based teacher, was Sausan's premier teacher in 1974, instilling in Sausan the style and authenticity of Egyptian expression. Sausan teaches from her unique and separate system using her own dance vocabulary for one comprehensive and all inclusive dance experience. Sausan has produced works in all media, including video and printed publications, on the lives as well as dance, music, and artistic contributions of both Egyptian/Middle Eastern dancers and musicians. Sausan has also lectured in the major museums and higher learning institutions, and owns/operates her own Egyptian restaurant based in San Francisco, California.
