Ma*Shuqa teaches weekly classes and private classes at her Los Gatos
Hidden Garden Oasis Dance and Photography Studio. She has been teaching
and coaching for over 40 years and is known for the Ma*Shuqa Method format of
developing unique dance styles – that brings out the best in each student.
Ma*Shuqa specializes in private coaching for competition and to foster development
of unique individual dance signatures. Ma*Shuqa’s coaches students and as a result
all have their own unique dance styling. You can “see the professional difference” in
Ma*Shuqa’s students and they are not just carbon copies of Ma*Shuqa’s dance

Intensive Retreat May 24-27,2026. www.MaShuqa.com The Intensive Retreat
includes instruction in rhythms, maqams and musicality, dance movement to match
musical structure and designs, and a method for developing your own unique dance
signature. Retreat attendees say they have learned so much more beyond what they
have learned in taking weekly classes for 10 years; and teaches love the
instructional resources they get in a Diva retreat binder.
She and her husband, Carl Sermon, a performance photographer, offer photo
sessions at their Los Gatos Hidden Garden Oasis Photography Studio with coaching
and posing for professional performance images.

Dance haflas. and their annual Diva Intensive Retreat for just 6 dancers - a 30 hour intensive study weekend with opportunity to perform at a restaurant and includes video and pictures. The Intensive is an ideal resource for the new dancer and the new dance teacher - as participants receive a 3-ring binder with over 100 pages of dance notes, choreography, rhythms... The Diva intensive is held over Memorial Day weekend.
